Canticum Canticorum

Collegium Vocale Gent, ChampdAction and Serge Verstockt explore the many realities of love, including the virtual, united by the erotic, ecstatic and enigmatic Song of Songs from the Bible. The text could be an allegory of love between man and his god, or between man and his own technological creation.
In Canticum Canticorum, a virtual avatar yearns for her human lover. The audience will wander the aisles of a majestic church (a ‘cyberspace avant la lettre’), surrounded by musical robotics, video projects and sublime polyphony.
