A Beethoven night

Philippe Herreweghe is celebrating his eightieth birthday. And in 2027, it will be two hundred years since Beethoven’s death: a fitting occasion for a musical tribute to these two great masters. The Antwerp Symphony Orchestra, Collegium Vocale Gent, and Philippe Herreweghe have formed a golden trio for many years. Now they present a concert in the spirit of Beethoven’s legendary concert evenings, during which he brought together multiple performances and premieres of his own works in a single, extended program. We are now offering audiences the chance to experience that tradition for themselves. From the elegant First Symphony and the contemplative Mass in C to the exuberant Choral Fantasy, this concert showcases Beethoven in all his glory.
